Melissa James made her mark on a burgeoning dance scene in 1995 with the infectious groove of her second single “Baby Come Back”.
This song earned Melissa a Top 20 Aria dance chart and subsequent national media exposure through high rotation air-play and an appearance on Channel 9’s “Hey Hey It’s Saturday”.
A period of personal re-assessment saw Melissa close herself away whilst she continued to explore new musical terrain through song-writing , various session work and surrounding herself with some of the finest musicians in Australia.
A six page feature in Black & White Magazine – “The Rock Album” unleashed a new look Melissa with a fresh attitude and a batch of self-penned tunes leaning more towards pop, rock and soul.
“Beautiful Day” was written and produced by Melissa and Ashley Cadell the producer & writer for Kate Ceberano , Peter Andre and Swoop.
Melissa said “”Nature gave me a voice with a five octave range so it’s up to me to explore everything that I can do with it.”
Melissa produces songs with sing-along chorus’s and a bright breezy Radio friendly attitude that feels just like summer with the voice of a pop diva.
