Growing up around New Orleans, Maggie began crafting her musical taste young, studying violin, piano, voice and rhythm. After moving to Houston, she taught herself guitar at age 15 and began writing music as well as arranging and learning to produce songs.
Though Maggie moved to New York City to study Acting, she couldn’t escape her desire to write poetry and music. She formed her band MaryMac right after college, frequently performing bars and clubs in New York City, DC and Albany. After a year with the band, Maggie began assisting at Mercy Sound Studios in New York’s East Village, to learn how to make their first Album. Being surrounded by artists at the studio led to many collaboration opportunities, the first being with producer Black Coast. The debut release of their single TRNDSTTR was premiered on HillyDilly.com October 2014 and made it to #3 on Hype Machine’s Most Popular Tracks on Blogs chart.
The Remix, released November 2014, made it to the #1 spot on HypeM with Soundcloud views recently surpassing 21 Million streams. TRNDSTTR remix was also used in the Les Twins (Beyonce, Missy Elliott) World of Dance Tour (2015) which led to its growth of viral videos from the dance community around the world.
The other two singles with Black coast, Enough and Ride (early 2015), both made it to the HypeM #1 spot with both appearing on Spotify’s New Music Tuesday playlist and Ride making an appearance on The CW’s The Originals Episode 218, Night Has A Thousand Eyes. Maggie followed up her 3 song feature collaboration with Black Coast with her single Did it For U produced by remixer Lucian (July 2015). The song was premiered on HillyDilly.com and highlighted by Fringe Music Fix, Run the Trap, Babes n Gents and Daily Chiefers. After the world premier of the TRNDSTTR music video the following week (Hilly Dilly, Wilhelmina Models, AltSounds, Indie Music Filter); Maggie’s single Vaporize was shared as a personal favorite on NTAN ntheairnewz.com following a shoutout from PAX Vapor.
Her debut EP, Vienna Genesis, was released November 3, 2015 with producers out of New York, Los Angeles and Chicago forming a range of pop, hip-hop and electronic sound to support her rhythmic, soulful flow.
Her single Leaves made an appearance on Spotify’s New Music Friday and Vaporize (Seven AM Remix) received its first spin on Accelerated Radio January 2016. Track #6, The Good , recently broke into FMQB’s Top 40 gaining National recognition. She has currently released 4 of 5 Official music videos with Did it For U premiered on Nylon Magazine and Vaporize appearing in the Fear No Film Festival in Utah.
Since the release, M. was featured as writer and vocalist on the song Grow by Germany’s electronic duo SteamPhunk, as well as This Girl by Australia’s MUTO through Of Leisure Records via Neon Records.
This Girl (ft. M. Maggie) was premiered by Nest HQ (Skrillex and co.) January 2016 and received its first spin on Triple J Mornings with Zan Rowe that month.
Moon Funk- Future (ft. M. Maggie) was released March 2016 and Portugal’s Siraiva- You I Want (ft. M. Maggie) was released April 2016.
